Since "Transformers 5" was announced, many fans are excited about the anticipated film, which boasts a powerful team of writers. So much is expected from the movie. But what if the film were just pure Autobots and Decepticons and no humans in it? After all, those creatures were from another world.
In an earlier report from Parent Herald, there are speculations that "Transformers 5" will be tittled "Transformers One," a prequel of the franchise that will be set entirely in space. The story plot will feature the untold story of Cybertron that the audience has yet to see. Cybertron is the home of Transformers. Moreover, it will also reveal the struggles the Autobots went through with Decipticons.
The team behind "Transformers 5" was divided if they will shoot the film entirely in space and disregard humans in the plot. If they do, it will force an all-Transformers movie and the production team is aware that while some fans would love it, some others will be disappointed.
Akiva Goldsman, the head of the franchise's new writer's room believes that the interaction between the humans and the robots in disguise is among the factors that make the franchise more interesting and invigorating, Cinema Blend reports.
"Do I think Transformers can live without humans? Sure. Do I think humans can live without Transformers? Sure. In Transformers movies? Sure! But, fundamentally, there seems to be something really great about the interaction between the two species," Goldsman said.
"I think that, in the main, I would suggest that that would be something you wouldn't want to squander. Although that doesn't mean that you couldn't do all sorts of things for a little while."
Well, Goldsman has a point. In fact, according to Slash Film, the issue with "Transformers: Age of Extinction" is the weightless storyline of Cade Yaegar (Mark Wahlberg) and his family compared to previous "Transformers" starred by Shia LaBeouf as Sam.
In the previous franchises of "Transformers," Sam and Bumblebee shared an extraordinary relationship which actually works and contributed to the film's success. However, when it comes to the human characters they become meaningless. Kids are unlikely to buy a Cade Yeagar action figure because they are interested in the robots. Although, Autobots are more interesting, humans will remain to be the stars of the franchise.
Meanwhile, Goldsman also shared to IGN there plans in structuring the upcoming "Transformers" film. The team is planning to make all the films interconnected but standalone. The writer thinks the best serialized storytelling has integrity from start to finish no matter what form it is presented be it on TV, movie or comics.
"Transformers 5" is slated for a 2017 release.
