As earlier announced and reported on Parent Herald, the new "Mortal Kombat X" DL Pack 2 is slated for an early 2016 release. Now, it looks like there's already a set month for its unveiling, as the latest buzz going around is that fans should be in for a treat come April next year.
According to Christian Post, speculations about the date emerged when Ed Boon, NetherRealm Studios video game programmer who also co-created the "Mortal Kombat" franchise posted a teaser to the expansion pack on his Twitter account back in September.
Boon also teased that the highly anticipated game may include exciting new stages with a mode that will likely include characters from "Jurassic Park." It remains to be seen whether the game developer is alluding to human or dinosaur characters, but the addition of familiar movie facets seems to be a welcome trend for "Mortal Kombat." It should be noted that the first Kombat DLC pack also featured movie characters from "Tremor" and "Predator," according to Game Spot.
The downloadable content is also rumored to be adding new fighters, but some iconic characters are likely to mark their return as well. While it's been confirmed that the DLC Kombat Pack 2 will only have four playable characters as Boon announced, according to Neurogadget, gaming fans may still be able to see other favorites marking their comeback as NPCs (non-playable characters).
There's a long list of who fans would want to return when "Mortal Kombat X" DLC Kombat Pack 2 drops in April 2016, so speculations have been keeping fans very excited.
According to Playstation Universe, former favorites such as Smoke, Spawn and Baraka, could be in the upcoming DLC pack. Smoke and Baraka were first part of the series in its 1990s releases, while Spawn is a popular comic book character. On the other hand, there have been arrangements Spawn creator Todd McFarlane and the "Mortal Kombat" team to make use of Spawn in the game for a limited period, according to Yibada.
Meanwhile, Christian Today reported that it's possible old characters like Drahmin and Havik could resurface as playable characters, but there are also speculations that the character of Rain who is an NPC in the current title, will become playable character in the updated version.
