Jaden Smith Says 'I'm Not Going Anywhere,' Denies Emancipation Rumors (VIDEO)

Fifteen-year old Jaden Smith, son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, recently sat down with Ellen DeGeneres to promote their new film "After Earth," and denied rumors that he wants to be emancipated from his parents on his 15th birthday, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"See, here's the thing I need to explain," Jaden said to Ellen. "I'm not going anywhere! The thing that people don't get is that everything at his [Will Smith's] house is free. So I can get anything and everything that I want at his house, so I think I'm going to be there for 20, 30 more years."

Will Smith laughed in agreement with his son, but Jaden jokingly added, "He says as soon as I have a movie that's bigger than one of his movies, then I have to leave the house."

When Ellen asked the celebrity dad where this rumor came from, he said, "I think I made a joke in Tokyo."

The rumor began when the Sun published a quote of the elder Smith saying, "He says, 'Dad, I want to be emancipated.' I know if we do this, he can be an emancipated minor, because he really wants to have his own place, like ooh."

The quote was taken out of context when Will explained how he and wife Jada Pinkett raise their kids without punishment.

"The rule in our house is you can do anything that you want and we don't pull the parent card until danger is involved," he said at the time, also discussing the some of the wild effects of his parenting strategy, such as 12-year old daughter Willow shaving her head.

Although Gossip Cop debunked the rumors at the time and contacted a Smith rep on Tuesday, who said, "This isn't real," the Internet was flooded with misinformation, and even articles on whether Jaden Smith could actually become emancipated.

"My baby boy, he's never leaving me, ever," Will said jokingly to Ellen during their recent interview. He and his son continued to laugh off the rumors. But he added "no emancipation for the Smith kids."
