Reports and rumors are circulating around the net regarding the highly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S7. Some say that it will have two variants, some say three. Others speculate it will be released in February, while some say it will be released in January.
Whatever the real deal is, Samsung is officially going to release the much-awaited Galaxy S7. And according to Korean IT news website ET News, Samsung plans on launching it on January 2016, to “completely change its strategy on smartphones.”
Not only that, the Galaxy S7 is reportedly coming in two different models, one having a 5.2-inch display, and the other a 5.7-inch display model. However, contrary to rumors that these models are the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, Vietnamese tech website SamsungViet (via Alphr) reports that these are the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and S7 Edge+.
According to Sam Mobile, Korean news outlet Business Korea reports that the Galaxy S7 will be sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 in its insides. Currently, Samsung is reportedly working on some heating issues, and is intent on putting the Snapdragon 820 as the device's processor.
"Samsung is making every effort to fix heating issues in the Snapdragon 820 chipset and trying to optimize it. The company is trying to release a patch before the end of this month by modifying the microprocessor control program. If this step doesn’t solve the issue, the company is planning to use heat radiating pipes to improve heat dissipation, which means that Samsung is hell bent on using the Snapdragon 820 in the Galaxy S7 at all costs," said the report.
Additional rumors of the S7 having three processor variant models have also come out. SM reports that Exynos 7422 (for retail in India), Exynos 8890 (for Asia and Europe), and Snapdragon 820 (for North America) processors will be installed.
Rumors of a flexible OLED display are also on the move. According to Know Your Mobile, earlier reports (via Phone Arena) state that the Korean tech giant is reportedly working on genuine flexible displays. “Project V” or “Project Valley,” as it is called, is being aimed for release on January.
In Chinese social network Weibo, rumor has it that Samsung plans to use “ClearForce” display tech – something similar, but offers more complex control input, than Apple's 3D Touch.
The Galaxy S7 is reportedly coming with the following specs:
4K resolution EDGE display; Snapdragon 820 with Adreno 530 graphics, with 4GB of RAM; and 64GB internal storage.
More details will be revealed soon, so stay tuned.
