Is "Half Life 3" in development? And will it be released soon? Fans of the "Half Life" series have been looking forward to this game. Unfortunately, "Half Life 3" remains to be something that fans wish will be out and Valve either delay or ignore up until now.
Parent Herald previously reported that "Half Life 3" made headlines after it was learned that some of its text files were found in "Dota 2." Unfortunately, Valve has never confirmed the speculation and fans remain hopeful that the game will be out anytime soon.
Despite Valve's knowledge that many gamers were anxious to play "Half Life 3," the team seems not interested in developing the game. Daily Sun shared that Valve co-founder Gabe Newell is not well-liked by the fans of "Half Life 3" because he kept fans waiting to hear about the title's progress.
Well, Newell has finally spoken up and his words will not likely gain him the favor of "Half Life 3" fans either. He expressed his surprise at the anticipation for "Half Life 3" and disclosed that the game is not in production yet, so fans should not expect for the game anytime soon.
Although, Newell's announcement is not a pleasant one, it's not bad either. Now that Valve is aware of how fans are eagerly expecting for "Half Life 3," perhaps they will consider its development. After all, the co-founder did not say that they will never develop the game.
But is "Half Life 3" not really in production? Gazette reported that a leak from Steam network from Valve revealed that there was an update in their database which includes the App 323900 featuring the logo of "Half Life 3." Valve was quick enough to remove it, but fans have already seen it.
In a separate report from Gazette, "Half Life 3" was included in the inventory listing of the 499KR website. However, one should still take the report with a grain of salt because it's possible that it was just a placeholder that was already there a long time ago. After all, it is unlikely for a Swedish website to learn more about "Half Life 3" than the US retailers.
Daily Sun revealed in a separate report that it's possible that fans of the conspiracy theories could be right after all. For instance, the company revealed that "Portal 2" is in development through an Easter Egg in an ARG game. Fans know that Valve wants to make their announcement in a fun and exciting way and that the team is just waiting for the right theory to confirm that "Half Life 3" is already in production.
