Fans of Shovel Knight, a popular character from the "Shovel Knight" game, have long been speculating that their favorite character is set to appear in an upcoming "Super Smash Bros" incarnation. But its developer, Yacht Club Games, has finally addressed the matter.
In a post on their official Twitter account, Yacht Club Games denied earlier news by saying that there have been some mistakes. A fan of the game posted a screen cap from Nintendo that listed the character as among the amiibos appearing on "Super Smash Bros 4." However, the game developer's reply crushed the hearts of avid gamers everywhere.
"Appreciate the enthusiasm for the idea, but I believe this listing was made in error," Yatch Club Games confirmed.
Furthermore, Yacht Club Games stated that, "The Shovel Knight amiibo was a mislisting, since it was listed as "Smash Series," in another Twitter post to address a fan's comment.
Realty Today informed that the decision to scrap Shovel Knight may have something to do with compatibility. Thus, it may be unplayable for "Smash Bros."
Not long ago, Nintendo Everything speculated on Shovel Knight's possible addition after the release of patch 1.1.1 for "Smash Bros." The gaming site reasoned that there were also three empty character slots and one of these slots was positively for Shovel Knight apart from additions to the stage slots.
Crossmap shared it's possible that Yacht Club Games is only trying to dial down the rumors before any official announcement is made. But on the possibility that the gaming developers are not actually bluffing, "Super Smash Bros 4" DLC gamers may still look forward to other upcoming additions in its latest release.
Gamenesia drummed up the speculations by saying that the new characters that will be added to "Super Smash Bros 4" DLC would be a "big deal" and would "make a lot of sense." The game news site also said that it's not going to be Shovel Knight but possibly a character from "Splatoon," another popular Nintendo game.
"Super Smash Bros 4" DLC is expected to be released in gaming platforms like Nintendo 3DS, Wii U and the PlayStation 4.
