One Direction Tour 2015: Hiatus Leading To Split? Louis Admits 'We're All A Bit Of A Mess,' Promises Band Will Return

Famous boyband group One Direction gave their final performance Saturday, Oct. 31, in Sheffield, Britain. The boys are set to go on a hiatus until next year.

The last show marked the end of the band's "On The Road Again" tour, which has been marred by the split of Zayn Malik back in March. Billboard reported that the remaining boys - Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Niall Horan - sang their hearts out and gave their all in their final performance, which seemed like "one, big happy celebration."

One Direction already announced early this year that they will be having an "extended hiatus" after their final show. "Basically we are all a bit of a mess," admitted Tomlinson, according to Metro. The boys are expected to reinvigorate and regroup after this break. After all, they are still coming back to do more shows, albums and songs.

"We've had five years of craziness. Now we all need to go away, become mad old recluses, then come back again with giant beards," said Horan in a feature on The Sunday Times. The boys insist this is not the last the world has seen of the world famous band and they're just taking a well-deserved break. They're also not splitting or breaking up as group despite all the rumors. "In five years we've done four tours, five albums, we've done films. I've not even watched our films because we are always running to the next thing," said Payne in the same interview.

One Direction's "On The Road Again" tour embarked on February 2015 in Sydney Australia. According to Billboard, the band visited 20 countries and did 80 shows until the finale in the last day of October.

In eight months, a lot has happened to the boys since. After Malik left, the band continued with the tour. Then Tomlinson announced he was going to become a father and then recently, Payne broke up with his girlfriend long-term girlfriend, Sophia Smith. With the tour no longer taking up most of their time, the boys will have a chance to process, absorb and reflect what went on.

Meanwhile, Simon Cowell, who formed the group in 2010, tweeted the boys his special message after their final show. "Five incredible years. And it was all down to you and the fans. Enjoy the break boys. You deserve it," he wrote.

However, fans in the U.K. will still get a glimpse of One Direction during the Royal Variety Performance, which will air in December.
