Viewers of "The Walking Dead" still don't know if Glenn (Steven Yeun) survived being trapped among an army of zombies, but AMC may have just provided a vital clue.
Huffington Post reported that Yeun's name was surprisingly not flashed during the opening credits of last Sunday's episode and it's the first time that this happened. But while the most recent story was centered on just two characters for the full-hour presentation, fans could not help but assume that omitting Yeun's name is already a sign.
Vulture shared that it's probably just the show's way of trolling its audience to sustain the speculations surrounding Glenn's "death." What made this more interesting was that Yeun was not even part of the "In Memoriam" segment that's traditionally presented when someone dies on the show. That segment is aired on "Talking Dead," the companion talk-show series of "The Walking Dead."
"The Walking Dead" showrunner Scott Gimple talked to The Hollywood Reporter to address the fate of Glenn two weeks ago. However, Gimple only has these words for the fans: "In some way, we will see Glenn, some version of Glenn or parts of Glenn again, either in flashback or in the current story to help complete the story."
The rather cryptic message paved way for more speculations from avid viewers. On the show's Facebook page, fans filled the posts with memes and photos demanding to know what really happened to one of the their favorite characters. Some say Glenn survived and rolled from under the dumpster to escape the zombies. "I live here where they film," one Facebook commenter wrote, "and a few weeks ago Glenn was pulling out of the Trailer's Parking Area and smiled and waved - really nice guy!!"
Fansided claimed that there is proof Glenn is still alive and will be seen in succeeding episodes. The site posted a photo of the actor still working on the set of "The Walking Dead." It indicated that he is with a cast member that has yet to appear in the series. It suggested that Glenn is still part of a story that is still set to air on the show.
Meanwhile, Glenn's character in the comic book series did actually die. Comic Book reported that that it happened in issue #100 when a character named Negan swung a baseball bat, hitting Glenn's head. Negan is believed to be coming to the TV show, too.
