"Pitch Perfect" star Rebel Wilson may have just made enemies of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. The Australian actress did not mince her words when asked of her opinion about the famous reality TV family.
News Corp Australia reported that Rebel made her pronouncements about the Kardashian-Jenners during a morning radio program interview with KIIS FM's Kyle and Jackie O. Rebel was apparently asked to present with Kendall and Kylie Jenner in last August's MTV Video Music Awards, but the actress refused.
"What they stand for is totally against what I stand for. They seem a bit superficial and their careers aren't really based on talent," she said in the interview. The 35-year-old comedienne did eventually grace the VMA and presented singer Nicki Minaj the award for Best Hip Hop Video by her lonesome. She also twerked with the "Anaconda" singer.
TMZ reported that Rebel doesn't think the Kardashians deserve whatever fame they have achieved. Us Weekly reported that Rebel also took jabs about Kim's Kardashian's rise to fame, which she compared to her own achievements. "I know they're super popular, but I'm all about personality and working hard to get to where I am," she said. "How Kim Kardashian got famous from the sex tape and I just went to acting school and worked really hard..."
Hollywood Life reported that Rebel would "most definitely" turn down any offer to appear on "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" if the matter ever came up. However, she clarified that she doesn't hate the women individually and that her opinion was not a personal attack, per Mirror. The news outlet also reported that the women of the Kardashian-Jenner family have a combined 95.1 million followers on Twitter. Their other social media accounts also have millions of followers.
But it's not just Rebel who is speaking against the Kardashian's popularity, People reported that comedienne Amy Schumer also dissed the Kardashians when she did her opening monologue for "Saturday Night Live."
"We have to be a role model for these little girls because who do they have? All they have, literally, is the Kardashians," opened Amy in her monologue. "She doesn't have a Malala poster in her room - trust me. And is that a great message for little girls? A whole family of women that take the faces they were born with as a light suggestion? Is that great? No."
Amy later clarified that she has "nothing but love" for the famous family and that her message was about young girls learning to love their own skin.
