The hype about the upcoming sequel of "Avatar" is going intense. A new report claimed that the two lead characters, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoey Saldana), will be torn apart by the war in "Avatar 2." If they do, is there any chance of reconciliation?
Christian Post reported that "Avatar 2" will feature a dark prison theme; along with this is a heartbreaking struggle between Sully and Neytiri. There are speculations that the Na'vi lovers will be forced to live their separate lives due to the war. Doing so is necessary for the characters to grow and strengthen themselves, Realty Today has learned.
The first film ended with Sully going through a traditional ceremony to become a Na'vi. Will the process be in vain if he part ways with Neytiri? Will there parting time help them or will it drift them apart?
Meanwhile, fans already knew that Stephen Lang, a.k.a Col. Miles Quaritch will return in "Avatar 2." Parent Herald previously reported that Lang will be "Avatar's" Darth Vader. In the first film, he was shot by Neytiri with an arrow on his chest twice. Initially, many thought that he didn't survive, but to many's surprises he did. There are rumors that "Avatar 2" will feature how Quaritch survived.
"Steven was so memorable in the first film, we're privileged to have him back," Director James Cameron said of Lang's return. Cameron did not explain how they will bring the character back, but he reminded the fans that they are working on a science fiction story and everything is possible.
As for Lang's character, his new role will be something fans should look forward to. "His character will evolve into really unexpected places across the arc of our new three-film saga. I really look forward to working with such a gifted actor, who's also become a good friend," Cameron said.
In a separate report from Parent Herald, "Avatar 2" will feature Pandora's ocean ecosystem. The director explained that they will not explore the coral reefs because that stuff is well-understood, but he teases that challenger deep has a direct connection to the film.
"It's all the scuba diving I did before I even started the deep ocean stuff that has more of a direct connection to Avatar 2 & 3, which by the way won't take place completely in or under the water," Cameron added. "That's just part of the environment of Pandora that we're going to see."
"Avatar 2" will premiere on Dec. 25, 2017.
