American comedienne and popular television host Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been plagued with divorce rumors. There are speculations that they already called it quits and are even living in separate roofs.
The couple has made it clear that they have no interest in having children. However, the supermarket tabloids are once again claiming that Portia wants to ask for divorce due to the host's unwillingness to adopt. There are speculations that the "Scandal" star is willing to try another option after her failed IVF treatment, Classiclite reported.
A source told Life & Style magazine that Portia was disheartened after learning that Ellen will not be supporting her next round of IVF treatment. "Ellen said she realized she doesn't want to be a mom," the insider said. "It was utterly devastating news for Portia. She really hasn't recovered from it. Ellen can be very selfish at times...She wants things her way."
Even if Portia and Ellen have different perspectives when it comes to building a family and having kids, they are not willing to give up their marriage that easily. The insider added that they are still very much in love with each other. In fact, they are trying to work out their issues by attending couples therapy, but per CelebDirtyLaundry they are living in separate houses.
The "Ally McBeal" star is, obviously, desperate to be a mom. She is very much affected when she sees children around her. "Portia will see children playing or a bay in a strolled and get a sudden pang of emotion...It's definitely a heartbreak she carries," added the insider.
Although Ellen and Portial couldn't agree with raising children, both share the same passion in architecture. The writer and producer has added interior designing as one of her long list of accomplishments, People has learned.
Ellen has been buying and selling over a dozen houses each with a unique style. In fact, she shared her knowledge in a new book "Home." The book will also give fans a peek of her previous homes from her spacious abode in Santa Barbara to her mid-century classic house in L.A.'s Holmby Hills.
"I think people were kind of really surprised, like 'Ellen's into design?!' But everyone who knows me and who is in my life has known that for a long time," the talk show host said. "Portia's into art deco more than I am, but she loves everything that we're doing."
