Parody is a common thing, it can be found in YouTube and in other meme sites. But, one new parody is surprisingly hilarious and even more surprising is that it stars presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The Donald, who apparently is known for his campaign to “Make America Great Again,” made headlines with his dance moves as seen in "Saturday Night Live." According to Entertainment Weekly, the real estate mogul came back to do some hosting for the second time. He was, of course, known as the host of NBC's “The Apprentice” in 2004.
SNL showed various sketches that night, and some of these were hilarious. Trump had a monologue, joined by Taran Killan as Trump, and Darrell Hammond as another Trump.
Three sketches, aside from the opening, were presented for viewers to watch.
Bad Girls
Although it didn't live up to other pre-recorded sketches, there's still something funny to watch in it. However, “funny” is defined by the viewer, so it depends.
Weekend Update
Weekend Update had all jokes for Trump and other Republican candidates. Leslie Jones shows up and spends time talking about how 'unmanly' it is when men use emojis and the word “yay” in texting. Drunk Uncle then says how happy he is to have a presidential candidate who's much like him. Additionally, Colin Jost's best joke ever has been thrown, a self-deprecating dig about the New York Mets.
Hotline Bling
Here's Drake's now-famous video made even more famous, via a parody starred in by the Donald. The video, a parody for “Hotline Bling,” showcased Drake's dance moves being done by dads.
The sketch, which starred Jay Pharoah as Drake, spoofed the moves. “I’m proud of my dance moves,” he sings in the parody. “Because lots of people dance like this. Bet your father dance like me.”
Trump also dance, as a “tax man,” complete with all the ties and tax-man-worthy eyeglasses. He even tried to rap to the song's most famous line, singing “you used to call me on your cellphone” alongside SNL crew members Killam, Bobby Moynihan and Beck Bennett.
Martin Short also appeared in a cameo role, as pointy-haired Ed Grimley. The 65-year-old sang “Drizzy Drake, you stole my moves and that’s no lie,” which made Hollywood Life think that indeed, Drake could have stolen Grimley's moves.
NBC reports that SNL got its highest overnight rating since 2012, thanks to this episode.
“I get the best ratings,” Trump told the Los Angeles Times.
