"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" stars Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel discussed plot details to the forthcoming movie at the same time this week. The actors are the voices of the characters Rocket Raccoon (Cooper) and Groot (Diesel). While one actor's confirmation is indeed going to take place in the sequel, another actor's revelations were squashed by the film director James Gunn.
Entertainment Weekly reported that Cooper mistakenly revealed a "major mystery" involving Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), the lead character of "Guardians of the Galaxy 2." During the press round for his latest film "Burnt," Cooper told international reporters that Thanos (Josh Brolin) is actually Peter's father. However, that fact has yet to be revealed in the story and it remains one of the cliffhangers.
The news outlet hinted that Cooper seemed to be confusing some scenes from the first "Guardians" movie to the new script, but the actor appeared to be confident about what he was talking about.
The "slip" was later clarified by the movie director, who addressed the plot leak concerns on his Twitter account. Per Gunn, Cooper only got his hands on the script to the sequel recently and didn't share any crucial plot details.
While that crisis has been averted, it's a different story for Diesel who revealed "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" details on his Facebook account. In a long video to address fan questions, the actor happily talked about making the sequel.
"James Gunn is such a great writer. I read this script and I go, 'You're a great director, and you're this good [of] a writer too.' No wonder Marvel is so excited about what you're doing. No wonder Marvel can't wait to see 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2.' Yeah, it's one of those page-turners. You cannot put the script down," Diesel said, per Huffington Post.
The actor also confirmed that when he got the script, there was a CD of "Awesome Mix Vol. 2." "Dancing is such a big part of this 'Guardians of the Galaxy' script," he told his fans who still remember that his character had the cutest dancing scenes in last year's movie.
"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is expected to be in theaters 2017.
