The adaptation of the 2012 erotic romance novel "Fifty Shades Darker" into a movie has hyped fans excitement. Following the success of "Fifty Shades of Grey" film, the famous novel by E. L. James is slated for a February 2017 release. But even before "Fifty Shades Darker" hits the big screen, one of the main characters, Dakota Johnson, spills out some details on her role as Anastasia Steele and how she "breaks Christian Grey down."
In an interview with Elle Magazine, Johnson explained how she prepared for the "Fifty Shades Darker" movie. According to Johnson, to know more about her role as Anastasia Steele, she had to first read the whole novel. She said, "While reading the book, I found myself more interested in the ways the characters are breaking each other down emotionally than the sex scenes. I think there's a part of a woman that wants to be a thing that breaks a man down."
Johnson also shared that playing Anastasia Steele in "Fifty Shades of Grey" is not an easy feat as you have to be sexually honest, especially when filming fiery sex scenes. "I don't have any problem doing anything," Johnson revealed. "The secret is I have no shame."
At 26 years old, Johnson has been named one of Elle's Women of the Year, per E! Online. During the awards night of the magazine, the "Ben and Kate" actress thanked her mother Melani Griffith and grandmother Tippi Harden for where she is now.
"I want to thank you both for encouraging me and supporting me in all of my endeavors, excluding the time you let me cornrow my hair on vacation and my scalp got sunburned and also when I thought it would be cool to pierce my belly button and I wore dangling jewelry from it," Johnson revealed.
Apart from spilling some of her unique fashion sense, she also thanked her mother and grandmother for encouraging her despite going through a phase where she had "questionable" music choices such as the ska band Phis as well as changing her cellphone voicemale to Bliss.
During her interview in Elle, Johnson revealed how was it growing up with two famous parents. She said that it's awful how the press "like to pick on children of famous people." She further reveal, "It's so, so sad. And there's absolutely nothing you can do about it."
"Fifty Shades Darker" stars Johnson alongside Jamie Dornan, who plays Christian Grey. The movie is slated to be released in February 2017.
