"Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain," has been clouded with controversy since its release, one of which is the sudden absence of the primary allies in the game, expert sniper Quiet. However, a redditor who goes by the name Brotigan noticed that the developer has quietly solved the absence of Quiet through a new patch to appease fans.
According to GamesRadar, Quiet usually leaves the squad after completing mission 45, but everything has changed now as Quiet is back when you play a mission several times. Brotigan explained on Reddit that when you play the mission "Cloaked in Silence" for exactly seven times, the [REPLAY] button changes to [REUNION]. Press [REUNION] and finish the mission one more time, then, Quiet will suddenly and permanently appear on Diamond Dogs. After that, you can now again complete missions with Quiet on your side, without any cutscene, so the story stays the same only with the addition of the sniper ally, per Kotaku.
Along with bringing Quiet back (without any announcement whatsoever from Kojima Productions), patch 1.06 also fixes bugs and nerfs an easy way to farm fuel resources. For those who are having doubts if this recent discovery has any truth to it, along with Brotigan's claim are other videos who also showed such patch. NeoGAF on Reddit also verified the return of Quiet in "Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain."
Gamers are more than happy about the new "Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain" patch. One commentor on Brotigan's Reddit thread said, "OMG FINALLY! I've hated every game companion expect in Fallout 3 but Quiet is surely the best buddy."
However, some players think that the addition of Quiet does not fit in with the overall "mood" of the story. One commenter even said, "Despite the fact I enjoy being with Quiet, I think the original ending fits better with the mood of the story. With scarcity comes value, as they say."
Meanwhile, according to GameSpot, Konami has also announced that there will be a major update coming to "Metal Gear Online" this month, but no specific date has been released as of the moment. The following are the "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" updates this November, per Konami's website.
