A new trend is emerging in video game development as players are seeing larger environments more and more. The latest updates to "Xenoblades Chronicles X" seem to support this very idea as developer Monolith Soft teased a new Skells guide and a gameplay map in latest video releases.
"Xenoblades" Skells Guide
Skells are the mechanized suits that the players' characters use for combat. But before they can wear this, they have to get accreditation and training in-game to earn their pilot licenses. It's not always easy to handle Skells, which is why the survival guide video is helpful. However, the payoff to acquiring Skells is worth as it gives gamers the ability to travel faster and fight stronger, per The News Hub.
One of the things that players have to learn is balancing the use of Skells strategically. The machine consumes fuel a lot so gamers have to find the right combination to be able to maximize it while in combat.
As the guide will show, there are three types of Skells in this latest game. Light gears are great for speed but not much effective for combat, medium gears are most-balanced but not always the best to use for certain situations, and heavy gears don't have the agility but it is perfect for fighting big enemies.
With the right use of Skells, a gamer can make combats with enemies far more interesting. Per Develop Online, this will also be the first time the game is getting its online series, making gameplay so much for fun for team missions.

Meanwhile, Nerd Reactor reported that Monolith Soft also released a new video footage along with the Skells guide that displayed the latest map to the Xenoblade universe. John Rairdin narrated the video, who stated that the planet Mira now spans about 154 square miles in this latest version. That's roughly five times bigger than the map of "Fallout 4" and three times bigger than "The Witcher 3."
The video also showed a Skell trying to cover the new environment. However, as much as the mechanical firepower is fast and able and the video ran for almost 25 minutes, it couldn't even finish exploring the planet.
