Fans are getting hyped over the upcoming clash between freedom and justice in “Captain America: Civil War.”
More than just seeing Iron Man's wicked Bleeding Edge armor and his fights with Steve Rogers, many would like to know about other characters' whereabouts in the coming Marvel movie. One actor, Paul Bettany, speaks to some more detail regarding his character Vision's involvement in the film.
According to Screen Rant, reports regarding Vision changing sides might happen in the highly-anticipated film. Bettany himself explains Vision's thinking in an interview with Collider.
“What I love about my character is that there are so many places for him to go. I think he’s very interested in what it means to be human and what love is. The only way one can guarantee one’s loyalty is love. Loyalty is beyond logic, really. Logic doesn’t really provide for loyalty. If your logic changes suddenly and things not make sense, you can alter your allegiance, but love stops you from being able to do that.”
This seems to confirm the rumors. Apparently, Vision's siding with Team Iron Man seems to be the most logical decision for him, but with the inclusion of “love” in loyalty, things just might change.
Speaking of logic, Chris Evans (Rogers) spoke of Captain America's reasons for fighting against registration in a Salt Lake Comic Con.
“But Cap has his reasons, he certainly has his reasons, and he is a good man and his moral compass is probably the cleanest. This is a tough thing. This is what made it so interesting while we were filming, and it’s hopefully what will make the movie great is nobody’s right, nobody’s wrong. There’s no clear bad guy here. We both have a point of view, which is akin to most disagreements in life and politics.”
That seems exciting. Hero against hero, with possible side-switching along the way. “Civil War” appears to be a big part of the Marvel storyline.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” Bettany said of the movie's script. “I think it’s really interesting, the way that a huge, epic superhero extravaganza is discussing a really interesting question, which is about people unilaterally going into other people’s countries and their intervention there. It’s actually an interesting thing to talk about in a massive forum like that.”
“Captain America: Civil War” releases May 6, 2016.
