For days now, word about a rumored 4-inch iPhone 6c is believed to be coming out in mid-2016 which should appease users who were awaiting for a successor to the seemingly forgotten iPhone 5c.
But the question is would some users still be interested in getting a presumably cheaper and smaller iPhone?
Apparently there are some who find the current iPhone 6s and 6s Plus too large to have plus the fact that they do cost a bundle. Proof of that is Apple has been reportedly coming up with different kinds of schemes to spur up sales, include offering them on installment.
And with that in mind, it would be wise to figure out how cheap is cheap? Could a smaller screen (4-inches) dramatically drag down the price and entice Apple loyalists to get one if and when it does debut?
Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst for KGI Securities and someone who is a reliable source when it comes to Apple products believes that the Cupertino-based company will be selling 20 to 30 million smaller iPhones by the second half of 2016.
But again, it could depend on how much we are talking about since price matters and with a smaller screen, it may not be feasible to even compare it with the existing iPhone 6s and 6s Plus we have in the market.
Before all that, is there really an iPhone 6c in the works?
Acoording to a report from the Cult of Mac, Kevin Wang of IHS Technology believes that one is really on its way and will likely come out by the middle of 2016. But there is one thing that could waylay such a belief.
Assuming it does come out by June, 2016, this would mean that the device will debut just about three months when Apple is expected to unveil its new device which is most likely the iPhone 7.
If so, a sane reason for this is to ensure that the iPhone 6 line doesn’t completely move out of the circle of popular devices available from Apple.
Existing iPhones have been known to get large price-offs when September (or the impending launch month of new iPhone devices) comes.
If an iPhone 6c does make its way into the market by 2016, its pricing structure could very well be in line with the presumed price drops existing units carry before the newest star in the iPhone clan is officially revealed.
The iPhone 5c was obviously a success to the ones under a tight budget and hopefully such holds true as well for the iPhone 6c per a report from ZDnet – that is if there is one really coming out next year.
