Joanna Garcia Gives Birth to Baby Girl, Husband Nick Swisher Overjoyed with Daughter’s Arrival

Baseball player Nick Swisher and his wife actress Joanna Garcia become parents.

The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, Monday, May 20, according to reports by Daily Mail. The news was re-confirmed later as Swisher was found on the paternity leave list provided by Cleveland Indians.

According to the reports, the couple is overjoyed with their little girl's arrival.

"Everybody's doing pretty well," Daily Mail quoted Indians manager Terry Francona telling the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "Everybody's healthy. He's obviously over-the-top excited, proud, all that stuff."

After her split with fiancé Trace Ayala, Garcia started dating Swisher in 2009. The couple got engaged in 2010 and tied the knot the following year. The "Reba" star announced pregnancy via her Twitter account in November 2012.

"So happy to finally be able to share our news! @NickSwisher & I r expecting our 1st baby in 2013! Feeling so blessed & beyond excited!" Garcia wrote Nov. 12.

In January 2013, Swisher confirmed that they were expecting a baby girl.

"I am so excited. I never in a million years thought I'd have a little girl, but over the last six months, the pink and purple dresses that I've bought, I'm telling you. . . My wife, Jo, she says, 'You're going to spoil that little girl so much.' I can't wait, man," Swisher said while talking to Ben Lyons for the "Yahoo on The Road Show", according to Us Weekly. "I talk to her every night. Jo and I, we're so excited to meet her and to bring her in the world and give her a whole lot of love."

Nurseries in three different cities will be awaiting the new arrival, as Garcia had earlier revealed.

"My husband works in one city, I work in a second city and we live in a third city, so we have a lot of cribs to buy," the actress, who experienced an extreme craving for mayonnaise during pregnancy, told People magazine.
