Utah Teen Arrested Following the Death Of His Younger Brothers

Authorities are now questioning a 15-year old teen after the death of his brothers, two boys found dead in their home, one of which by their mother after she returned to their house in West Point, Utah on Wednesday tonight, USA Today reports.

Sgt. Susan Poulsen said that the 4 and 10-year old boys died as the result of traumatic injuries. Police said that the boys had been left with their 15-year old brother while their mother took her other children to a dance recital. When she returned, she found the body of her 4-year old, and later police officers who responded on the scene discovered the 10-year old's body.

Deputies searched for the 15-year old Wednesday night and put out his name and age, but the Associated Press withheld the information as the teen is underage. Sgt. Poulsen said that police found the teen shortly after midnight, and he was taken to the hospital for evaluation. She declined to comment on his mental status.

The childrens' father, who is in the military and currently deployed in another state, is distraught along with the mother, Poulsen said.

According to the Idaho Statesman, Davis County Sheriff Todd Richardson said authorities believe the 4 and 10-year old children died from knife wounds, and it appears as though the 15-year-old boy is responsible and acted alone. As of now, he is the only suspect in the case.

"As result of the emerging details, the 15-year-old juvenile has officially been taken into custody," Richardson said, who offered "scant details" at the recent news conference and did not take questions.
