Apart from politics and economic matters, U.S. President Barack Obama knows a thing or two when it comes to "Game of Thrones." Obama recently sat down with Bill Simmons of GQ magazine for an interview, where he talked about her favorite character in HBO's hit fantasy drama series as well as his views on Jon Snow's death.
When Simmons asked Obama about the TV show he considers as his guiltiest pleasure, excluding "Game of Thrones," Obama reveals that it's "Big Break" on the Golf Channel. Obama also said that he watches it while on the treadmill and laughs while saying that "It's pretty lame." However, the President also reveals that apart from "Big Break," he also loves watching "Game of Thrones."
"My favorite character is probably…the dwarf, what’s his name?" says the President. Simmons then clarifies, "Oh, yeah. Peter Dinklage’s character."
Obama went on to say, "The problem with 'Game of Thrones,' though, is that I don’t remember the names of any of the characters. I remember the characters, so when I watch it, I know exactly what’s going on. But if you read a review of the show afterwards and they’re mentioning such and such, the only one I remember is Jon Snow, because I can pronounce Jon Snow."
Speaking of Jon Snow, in a previous Vanity Fair report, "Game of Thrones" director David Nutter said that President Obama asked him, “You didn't kill Jon Snow, did you?" Nutter then responded, "Mr. President, Jon Snow is deader than dead."
Well, that may just be the case because recently, Entertainment Tonight exclusively reported that Jon Snow may already be gone for good. Kit Harington, the actor who played fan favorite Jon Snow, told the news outlet that there was no problem cutting off his locks after shooting "MI-5," his latest film.
“I can chop it off right now," said Harington, which gave fans second thoughts on theories of Jon Snow returning to "Game of Thrones" Season 6.
Meanwhile, to mix things up a bit, Simmons, in the GQ interview, asked President Obama which "Game of Thrones" character is Donald Trump, to which he answered, "Uh…I don’t think…I don’t think any of them rise to that level."
