Video game aficionados will be treated for a jam-packed 2016 with a lot of high-profile games slated to release next year, one of which is Hello Games' "No Man's Sky,” featuring an expansive gaming field of 18 quintillion planets where gamers can go through single-player challenges, per Kpopstarz.
There's been a lot of rumor circulating about "No Man's Sky" being pushed for a June 2016 release due to technical difficulties. A recent report from PlayStation Lifestyle cites Destructoid UK Editor Laura Kate Dale mentioning that some of her sources have hinted that the massive action adventure game is going on some technical difficulties. Apparently, there have been some problems optimizing "No Man's Sky on PlayStation 4 as well as making it work on PC.
However, iDigitalTimes debunked this misleading delay-due-technical-issue rumor by saying that "No Man's Sky" has not been pushed back as its original release date is indeed June 2016. The news outlet further said that everything is going as planned. So for those who are disappointed, believing that "No Man's Sky" will be delayed, fret not, because as of now, the game is still scheduled June next year.
Meanwhile, Sean Murray of Hello Game's talked about the possibility of "No Man's Sky" having a multiplayer option. In an interview with Eurogamer (check out the video below), Murray had some difficulty answering this question considering that the game's nature makes it both possible and impossible to play multiplayer. Murray hinted and warned gamers on what to expect from "No Man's Sky.”
He said, "We [have been] very careful to downplay any multiplayer aspects and in some ways I feel like saying...forget about multiplayer, right? This is not an MMO, it's not a game you sit down and play with your friends. There are loads of games that do that and they are way better at it than us."
Murray further ditched the possibility of a deathmatch, saying, " If you want a Deathmatch, 'No Man's Sky' is not for you."
However, Murray lightened up the conversation, explaining how even without a deathmatch, "No Man's Sky" will still let players feel that they are not alone in the game.
"We want you to feel that other people are playing the game at the same time, and probably the biggest way you'll see that is the fact that this universe is being explored" he revealed. "There are other interactions that you have that people will have left behind for you, that we haven't talked about, but you'll get the feeling that this isn't a completely empty universe.”
Despite rumors, "No Man's Sky" is still scheduled to release in June 2016, two and a half years since it was announced, per Examiner.
