'X-Men: Apocalypse' Spoilers: Director Bryan Singer Teases James McAvoy's Professor X Wearing The 'Cerebro' [Photo]

The hype about the upcoming blockbuster film "X-Men: Apocalypse" is growing intense and Director Bryan Singer is good at riding the waves by posting teasers on his social media account. Earlier this month, the director hinted that the trailer of the film will soon be released and his recent post provided fans a sneak peek of Professor X's looks.

Parent Herald previously reported Singer's post teasing fans about the upcoming trailer of "X-Men: Apocalypse." The director was in the studio where he took a selfie with John Ottman, who edited and scored "X2: X-Men United" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" sitting behind him.

In the photo, Singer appears to be tired, perhaps from working for his upcoming masterpiece. He captioned the photo with "Back in the cutting room w #johnottman teaser coming soon."

In his recent post, he shared a screenshot of James McAvoy's Professor X looking serious and wearing his Cerebro helmet, ComicBook.com reported. Singer captioned the photo with "Finishing up the first teaser. #xmen #xmenapocalypse." It looks like, fans are close to seeing the official trailer of "X-Men: Apocalypse."

So what's with the Cerebro helmet? According to CinemaBlend, Professor X is using Cerebro, a machine that boosts his telepathy skills and allows him to find mutants across the globe. The report suggested: "There's more going on in this shot than meets the eye."

Last summer at the San Diego Comic-Con, the "X-Men: Apocalypse" footage that was screened featured Professor X being overwhelmed by Apocalypse's power while he tracks the supervillain in his Cerebro. This might explain his pained expression in the snapshot. However, the report suggested that it is still not sure if this scene will be included in the anticipated trailer because that particular scene was the last shot in the Comic-Con footage. However, to emphasize emotions, Singer and his production team can still put the scene at the end of their trailer and leave their fans more excited to watch the film.

Professor X has a long way to go. In "X-Men: First Class" he started as the idealist young man who is eager to help mutants. In "X-Men: Days of Future Past," he abandoned his noble goal but then get back into it in the end. We will see how he evolved in "X-Men: Apocalypse."

"X-Men: Apocalypse" will be the closest film to Patrick Stewart's iteration of the characters among the trilogy. In the snapshot above, we can't tell if Professor X is bald or if he still has his hair. However, soon we will know.

Set 10 years after "Days of Future Past, " "X-Men: Apocalypse" features the next battle of the mutant superheroes against the supervillain Apocalypse and his four horsemen Storm, Psylocke, Angel and Magneto.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" premieres on May 27, 2016.
