After giving birth to her son Milan, in January, Colombian superstar Shakira has taken up Zumba classes, which she credits for helping her shed the first few pounds of baby weight.
The sexy mama flaunted her fit figure in skinny jeans, chunky black open-toed heels and a flowy red-and-gray striped top while out on a shopping trip with Milan on Saturday in West Hollywood, according to the Daily Mail.
Shakira wore minimal makeup and with her long blonde hair pulled back, laughing and smiling while being photographed carrying her son as they shopped in a high-end baby boutique, Bel Bambini.
While inside a sales representative showed the singer some items, but she left with only her young song in her arms. Shakira's boyfriend and Milan's father, soccer star Gerard Pique, was not with his new family, as he is currently in Spain. His team, Barcelona, is set to take on RCD Espanyol on Sunday.
Despite working hard to get back her pre-baby body and famous hips, Shakira has said that she'd rather spend time with her son than at the gym.
"You wonder if you'll ever get your body back. I'm still a few pounds over," she said in a recent interview with US Weekly. "But I do Zumba. Even during pregnancy, I did it almost to the end. But now with 'The Voice', I don't have time. When I have a day off I want to be with Milan.
"I mean, I guess our mothers and grandmothers weren't under the pressure that women of today are after delivering a baby. He likes my mom a little chubby. So she was never under the pressure to get back to her old weight, and she never did, actually!"
When asked about jugging her workload as a judge on "The Voice" and being a mother, Shakira said her boyfriend Pique helped quite a lot.
"Thank God the father is very involved. He has been amazing," she said to the magazine. "The baby spends as much time with me as he does with his dad. He's the kind of dad who's full hands on. He changes diapers, he bathes him, he enjoys playing with the baby, he enjoys feeding him, all of that stuff. So that's great help for me, you know. I can't imagine doing all of this and not having the father do his part of the job. So that's a huge help to me."
The superstar admitted that being a mother is a "surreal" experience, as she never expected it to be this hard. "It takes a lot of energy but I love it. There's a lot of joy and fear," she said.
