'The Walking Dead' Season 6 Episode Spoiler: Glenn's Fate Finally Revealed -- Fans React on Social Media [Tweets]

If you haven't watched the last episode of “The Walking Dead” or at least haven't heard the news, then this article might spoil the show for you.

After a long 'is he dead or is he not?' moment that got fans theorizing and questioning what could have happened to beloved “The Walking Dead” character Glenn Rhee, he shows up again – alive.

Glenn was last seen October in the middle of an impending doom, stuck in the middle of a hungry crowd of ravaging walkers. NPR reported that some sharp-eyed viewers noted that he was under the dead body of his friend Nicholas, while the latter was being gobbled up by the man-eating undead.

Although Glenn looked like he had no hope for survival, Sunday's episode revealed otherwise. In the show's opening moments, Glenn was shown to have hidden himself under a dumpster, waiting until the coast was clear.

This reveal received both negative and positive comments from many ends. Some were disappointed at how the plot twist went that way, while some were very happy that Glenn was alive. Here are some of the disenchanted, according to the New York Times:

Vanity Fair: “How did ‘The Walking Dead’ ’s attempted plot twist go so wrong?”

Cleveland.com: “The revelation is, perhaps, the dumbest thing the show has ever done.”

The Wall Street Journal: “Glenn under the Dumpster will join Bobby in the shower, the cork on the island of ‘Lost,’ and the ‘St. Elsewhere’ snow globe in slide shows of far-fetched TV plot twists.”

Some, on the other side, were very happy about it. CNN reported that Twitter saw many happy posts about it.

Some are simple writings:

Some had GIFS:

And this one even featured Glenn himself, surprised at what happened:

Taking to twitter his gratefulness for all the positive reactions fans made, actor Steven Yeun posted his reply: “A much delayed thank you for all the Glenn love. big love to you all."

Yeun and “The Walking Dead” showrunner Scott M. Gimple appeared on “The Talking Dead” and discussed Glenn's living return to the show. Gimple described the plot twist as a means to impact viewers powerfully.

“I think it was important to do a story this year about uncertainty and that the audience would share that uncertainty that the characters had in Episode 5,” Mr. Gimple said. “Maggie didn’t know what happened to Glenn and I wanted the audience to be exactly where she was, to feel the exact same way.”
