'Alien 5' Trailer & News: Plot Will Focus is on an Older Newt, Michael Biehn Says It's 'Like Alien 3 and 4 Never Existed' [Report]

Though the series seems to have been dormant and has been seemingly forgotten, don’t be surprised if a fifth installment of the famed "Alien" franchise gets some headway soon.

The last we saw about Alien was the fourth installment titled "Alien: Resurrection" which hit the screens way back in 1997.

But now Michael Biehn, who last starred on "Alien 2" back in 1986, has spilled the beans that Alien 5 could be close to happening and bares what to expect.

Biehn spoke with Icons of Fright, stressing that the third and fourth installments are technically being scrapped in the event Alien 5 does materialize.

Alien 5 is currently on the shelf after being put on hold as reported by Comingsoon.net last October.

For those who are not familiar with Biehn, he played Corporal Dwyane Hicks in Alien 2. Though plans for Alien 5 are currently on hold, he bares that part of the plot for it calls for him and another character, Newt, to return 27 years later.

Rebecca ‘Newt’ Jorden, was portrayed by then-child actress Carrie Henn, the lone survivor for the colony on LV-426. Henn has since retired from acting and embarked on a teaching career.

Newt's character was killed off in Aliens 3, seeing her dissected and killed which was something that didn’t sit well with some of the viewers.

But with plans of bringing back the two characters, it remains to be seen how Alien 5 will carry on and how the movie will jump from Alien 3 and 4.

“They’re planning on bringing me and Newt back, and at this point Newt will be around twenty-seven years old,” said Biehn in that article with Icons of Fright. “I know that every actress in Hollywood is going to want to play this one, it’s really a passing of the torch between Sigourney and this younger actress who would play Newt.”

Apparently, a lot rests on Ridley Scott's "Prometheus 2: Alien Covenant". The film is one of the reasons why Alien 5 was put on the shelf and if the timeline is to be any indication, all plans tied up with Alien 5 may not be up for discussion until the film debut set for October 6, 2017 as reported by IGN.
