Rusev is back! Hopefully, the Bulgarian Brute will get some semblance of order back in his career after seemingly taken out of the equation following a series of storylines that hardly prospered.
Last time we saw Rusev was that scene where he was dumped and berated by Summer Rae with the Dolph Ziggler. After word broke out that he and Lana were engaged, the Bulgarian Brute somehow got eased out of the limelight.
But at WWE RAW, the show after the WWE pay-per-view Survivor Series, Rusev did make a comeback and seems to be taking on the job that Kane and J&J vacated with the Authority.
So now, from someone that WWE fans hadn’t taken seriously, Rusev becomes a goon of sorts for Triple H and company as they try to fend off Roman Reigns who is reeling off another setback after winning and thereafter losing the WWE title at WWE Survivor Series per reports via the Bleacher Report.
As expected, Reigns confronted Sheamus who had just snagged the WWE title from Reigns the night before. Rusev entered the scene via sneak attack, pounding on Reigns who was at the time demanding for a rematch for the WWE Heavyweight title.
And from that, it was obvious that Rusev was taking over the position once held by Corporate Kane though it should be interesting if the Russian super athlete would go as far as donning a suit sometime in the future.
Rusev’s sudden insertion into the Authority to the fold should somehow help him gain some lost ground, the new bodyguard/enforcer likely to stand in the path of Reigns and other WWE stars that dare cross the bosses of the WWE.
And that could mean that Rusev will be up against more popular names in the fold, something that should help jack up his stripes after seemingly being lost in transition after feuding with John Cena and at one point holding the United States title.
Rusev is actually part of the whole new faction that The Authority brings. It has become a total facelift right now with the Bulgarian Brute aligned with other top and monstrous heels like King Barrett and the reigning WWE champion Sheamus.
Sheamus and Barrett have already been mentioned as a lethal combo before according to 411Mania.com. That only became deadlier with a brute in Rusev which account for the new Authority from here on.
With that in mind, one has to wonder what may happen once Seth Rollins returns from injury. Will he have issues with the new goon squad or will he turn face when he is up and about from his knee injury?
That may take some time and all that could likely be settled after Wrestlemania 32, unless something dramatic happens along the way between the three monsters.
