Pregnant socialite Kim Kardashian is reportedly still getting Botox injections to stay beautiful.
In Touch magazine reported that the 32-year-old reality star is doing everything to make her skin stay smooth. "She's still getting injections even though she's seven months pregnant," an insider told In Touch magazine. However, representatives of Kim denied such reports to RadarOnlie.com.
It is said that Kardashian is worried about her pregnancy weight a lot and is trying out various things to stay young. She gained 70 pounds during her pregnancy. "She's become more neurotic than ever about her looks," a family source told the magazine. "She'll do anything to be beautiful."
Kanye West's mother died after a plastic surgery operation went wrong and media reports that West would not be happy to know that Kardashian is getting Botox injections so late in her pregnancy. "It would really set him off if he found out that Kim was putting his baby in that kind of danger just for her looks."
The magazine also reported that a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Jon A Perlman also hinted that the socialite underwent Botox. "The lack of upper facial wrinkling and expression suggest Botox. Her skin is too smooth," he said.
The source also said that there is nothing to be surprised about as it is after all Kim. "She's so worried about what she looks like - that's why she's still getting Botox. "This is Kim. She'll go to any lengths to protect the one thing that's most precious to her: her beauty," the source said.
But, a source close to the reality star slammed the reports saying that Kardashian "would never do this." "This is totally not true and she would never do this. It is absurd," reported RadarOnline.com.
Medical experts say that women should not experiment during pregnancy. A New York doctor told HollywoodLife.com that pregnant women should not try new products unless prescribed. "Nothing is 100 percent safe in pregnancy and no product should be used unless there is a good indication for it. Nothing will ever be fully studied in pregnant women so spray tanning, lip injections, etc. should be avoided. However, if someone did this without knowing they are pregnant then I would never tell them to terminate, just to stop doing (the procedure). Overall, we tell patients not to do anything that isn't important or medically necessary during pregnancy. Cosmetic procedures can wait," said Dr Daniel Roshan, Board Certified Maternal Fetal Medicine High Risk OBGYN in Manhattan.
Another doctor said that pregnancy reduces the immune system and increases infection post-surgery in pregnant women. "The risks of plastic surgery for pregnant woman are the same as any other surgical procedure, but pregnancy can decrease immune system function, increasing the risk of infection after surgery. There are also potential issues with anesthesia, fetal monitoring and post-surgical medications required to prevent infection and ease pain," Dr Paul J. Carniol, MD, FACS, New Jersey, told HollywoodLife.com.
