Craig and Leonie Hemsworth have every reason to be proud of their sons Luke, 34, Chris, 32, and Liam, 25. The Australian actors are not only accomplished Hollywood stars, they were also raised well by their parents.
Speaking with The Independent, youngest Hemsworth brother Liam shared that Chris surprised their parents one time by paying off their debts in full. "[My father] called my brother Chris back and said, 'I don't know how to feel. Since I left home, I have had debts and I thought I'd be paying them off until I died and have this weight hanging over me, and now to have them completely cleared," the "The Hunger Games" star said in the interview. "They are so happy now and able to spend more time with us. I would love to be able to do something for my parents like that."
Liam does give back in other ways by being active in the Australian Childhood Foundation, which he supports with his big brothers and their parents, per Huffington Post. The nonprofit organization helps children who have been through a trauma and the Hemsworth boys are actually ambassadors of the foundation, per Sydney Morning Herald. Last year, Chris came face to face with Australia's Foreign Minister Julie Bishop for the foundation and was also asked to visit the Parliament House and meet then Prime Minister Tony Abbot to discuss the charity.
Meanwhile, Liam revealed that he takes this responsibility with the foundation quite seriously especially "if you want to be a good person who adds to society," he said in the Independent report. He also credits his paternal grandfather, Keith Hemsworth, for instilling in him and his brothers the value of hard work and giving back. "He was a very hard-working Australian," said Liam of Keith, via Sunshine Coast Daily. "He didn't come from much, but was one of the most charismatic and hilarious people you could meet. He was the kind of guy who was friends with everyone." Keith passed away eight years ago.
Liam is currently busy doing the press rounds to promote his latest movies, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2" and "The Dressmaker." He will be seen next in "Independence Day: Resurgence" with Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman.
Chris, on the other hand, is promoting "In the Heart of The Sea," which has a December 2015 movie date. Next year, he's going to be seen in films "The Huntsman Winter's War" and the "Ghostbusters" reboot, while working on "Thor: Ragnarok."
Luke is currently working on the upcoming HBO series "Westworld."
