"Dishonored 2" is one of the highly anticipated game titles that Bethesda will be offering, but it seems that its actual release date has been moved back due to strategic reasons.
The game was originally expected to debut by the Spring of 2016, but there have been changes made.
A YouTube user named Matty Schoeder, who was around during the E3 conference back in June, saw something different in the presentation which in all was hinting at a possible delay for the said game.
The most notable sign is the removal of "Spring" out of the "Spring 2016" in the game's presentation. With that said, Cross Map shared that the game could come out late 2016 or possible even early 2017.
If that is any indication, it could mean that the release of "Dishonored 2" has been moved to perhaps late 2016 or probably early 2017. So, why the delay?
Well, there are two plausible reasons for such: 1) A lot of new game titles expected to come out by that stretch of Spring which could somehow steal the thunder from under Bethesda; and 2) Pushing back the release date could also allow the game developers to polish the game even more before it is actually brought out in the open.
Either way, whatever reason is behind it, the rumored delays for "Dishonored 2" should be something that is seen to give Bethesda added flexibility in the coming year.
For those who are not yet aware, "Dishonored 2" will focus on Emily Kaldwin, a young and unplayable character. Venture Capital Post said that setting of the game will take place 15 years after "The Dunwall Plague" and at a time when the Empire finds itself in a state of chaos after the dethroning of Kaldwin.
Kaldwin eventually tries to restore order by following her protector, Corvo Altano, to become an assassin. With an Outsider’s mark, she ventures out to try and reclaim her throne and the power that she had lost from an "otherworldly usurper."
Right now, there was only a single trailer released for the "Dishonored 2," which could hint that there are more enhancements and improvements as we speak.
Disappointing as it may sound for the ones eager to check out "Dishonored 2," it remains to be seen if the delays and strategic angle followed by Bethesda and game developer Arkane Studios would result in a near-perfect and bug-free game.
