According to MacRumors, Apple is planning to release a thinner MacBook Air next year in 13 inch and 15 inch sizes. The unveiling of the new gadget is reported to be in next year's Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, which could happen in June 2016. Although there is still no official announcement from the company, there are already speculations that came from various sources about its release date and the specs of the new Apple product.
In today MacBook Air's lineup, you can only choose between 11-inch and 13-inch models in which the last update was still in March this year. Many people are beginning to wonder if Apple will continue to update the MacBook Air series or stop the production and release a new model, a report from N4BB stated.
The series' last update includes the latest generation of Intel processors, graphics improvement and faster storage. The only downside of the 11-inch and 13-inch models is the absence of a retina display.
Earlier this year, Apple released the new MacBook that came with a 12-inch display, Force Touch trackpad and the retina screens. The model also came out with only one USB port, the news outlet gathered.
There are rumors that the new Apple MacBook Air will also come with the same features like the Force Touch trackpad, better resolution display and Intel's new mobile CPU that promotes energy conservation. Many fans would want to know as well if it will be the same as the MacBook that came out this year with only one USB Type-C port, Laptop Mag reported.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, a renowned Apple analyst, there is a big possibility that the company will stop the production of the current MacBook Air models since the new 12-inch model of MacBook is now the top seller PC product, as stated in the report from Motley Fool.
The news portal also added that next year's release will be very challenging for Apple since third party developers may not have enough time to port their various application software over to the next product.
