20th Century Fox is certainly on a roll as more anticipation builds up in wait for “X-Men: Apocalypse.” This third and final installment to a trilogy which started with "X-Men: First Class" is expected to be epic.
Screenrant reported that while an official “X-Men: Apocalypse” trailer is yet to be seen, the good news is that it is coming real soon. Fox has revealed the trailer at the 38th annual Giornate Professionali di Cinema di Sorrento and a description has been released through Cinefilos.it.
According to the description (translated via Google), the trailer starts with Jean Gray waking up from a nightmare and tells Professor X about the "end of the world" and how "there was only death."
Shown next are young mutants in Xavier's school, followed by Moira MacTaggert telling him that they've found a "god-like mutant," who could possibly be the origin of the mutant species.
A hooded figure followed by Psylocke and Storm appears. They appear to be looking for mutants, and the hooded figure gives the many names he's been called throughout centuries. He says that the world needs to be changed and "remade" by mutants.
The three of them find Magneto, who asks "Who are you?" The hood is then pulled down, revealing the face of Apocalypse. This is followed by a scene showing destruction, caused by Apocalypse.
A frightened Xavier is then shown. Either he or Jean says, "It can control us." Two opposing groups of mutants are then shown: most likely Xavier and his students, facing Apocalypse's Horsemen. Apocalypse then fires a burst of energy through Xavier and his wheelchair, and Jean screams.
A slow motion scene shows "Quicksilver running through the hallway leading towards Cerebro."
Mystique then tells Xavier, "I came to fight." Xavier enters Cerebro's chamber, and his eyes turn black.
Possibly possessed by Apocalypse, he says "I've never felt like this before."
A scene showing a "bald Professor X" closes the trailer.
SR reported that the description sounds like the unfinished footage shown during the San Diego Comic Con in July. It's assumed that this trailer might be an updated, more finished version of the earlier teaser.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” will be shown alongside other superhero movies next year such as “Captain America: Civil War” and “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Expect to see a massive superhero clash for ticket sales and box-office reviews.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” opens May 27, 2016.
