For those who are fans of the "Uncharted" series, the team from Naughty Dog recently held a live stream event for the "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," revealing a lot of details about the latest "Uncharted" game including its file size and new power-ups, per GameSpot.
According to the news outlet, Naughty Dog revealed that "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will hit the 7 GB mark in terms of file size. The event also showcased the dynamics of the game's multiplayer mode through a display of multiplayer matches. The game will also have a new feature -- microtransactions. Former community strategist of Naughty Dog, Eric Monacelli, recently spoke with MCV to discuss this feature and defend it from negative connotations that players immediately had.
“Microtransactions tend to get a sort of negative connotation in the games industry. If you remember back in the day, people bristled when they sold horse armour [for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion]. It's something that has always happened," Monacelli said.
"But if it's good enough content and you want to pay for it, why not pay for it? That's what it comes down to. For me, the more thought that's put into DLC, the more you should be able to charge for it, because it's one of those things where you're creating another game unto itself."
"It's work, and you should pay for good work," he added.
GameSpot also reported that "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will feature new power-ups called "mysticals" based from former "Uncharted" games' elements. Another new feature that fans will get excited to use are NPC characters. The addition of these supporting characters to "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" lets the players gain backup power that they can into battle during hard circumstances.
Those who bought the "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" will experience the multiplayer beta version of "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" starting Dec. 4. The full game of the latest installment in the "Uncharted" is slated for an official release in March 2016.
The beta multiplayer version will also be available at the PlayStation Experience this weekend together with other 113 PlayStation games, per another GameSpot report. Other big name games that will be playable this weekend are "Far Cry Primal," "Black Ops III," "Bloodborne: The Old Hunters," "Dark Souls 3" and "For Honor."
