Reboots are a great thing, much more if the original is something that's already great. In that case, fans of the PlayStation 2 game “Amplitude” will again enjoy the cult classic as game maker Harmonix gives it a reboot for the PlayStation 4.
Engadget reported that the reboot, which is a mix of rhythm and sci-fi components, will be heading to the PlayStation Store, available starting January 5 for $20.
According to Gamespot, “Amplitude” was originally dated for release March 2015, but had some delays – to summer and then to a December or early 2016 release -- as Harmonix wanted to add more features such as two new environments, new game modes and online leaderboards.
This new version ran on Kickstarter in 2014 and has raised $844,127 from many supporters. Anyone who gave more than $40 to the Kickstarter will receive the game on December 23.
The upcoming version will include various game modes such as campaign, solo freeplay, free-for-all and team play modes. The game's repertoire of soundtracks have also been enlarged, from 16 to 30. The various featured music are courtesy of game music composers, Kickstarter backers and Harmonix's own composers.
