Katie Holmes: Daughter Suri is 'Sensitive to The Needs of Others'

Actress Katie Holmes is obviously very happy with her daughter Suri. More than just being her mini-me and constant buddy, the actress said that her daughter inspires her as well.

“I definitely like to set an example for my daughter — but she also is very generous of spirit on her own,” the proud mom told People. “And so she inspires me, as well.”

Holmes has found that her daughter with former flame Tom Cruise has a very nice side to her.

“She’s sensitive to the needs of others,” she said.

The 36-year-old mom is reportedly working with Glad to Give, an organization that provides free Glad bags used to help collect gifts and donations that will be given away to underprivileged families. However, it looks like it's not just her who has the charitable heart – the little lookalike also has it.

"My little one is very, very generous and very sensitive,” Holmes told US Weekly. “So she's always [saying], 'Mom, let's give my old toys to people who need it. So we are always doing that."

Holmes explained that the spirit of giving has always been a part of her family and her own personal life. She received even more motivation to do so when she became an aunt and a mother herself.

“It’s naturally something that is a part of our everyday life,” she said.

Apparently, she would love to teach her young daughter to do the same thing. During the Global Citizen Festival last fall, she even brought Suri onstage, while in a campaign to help raise awareness for worldwide poverty.

During that event, Holmes and her daughter joined a slew of performers and other celebrities that included Ed Sheeran, Pearl Jam, Kerry Washington, First Lady Michelle Obama and many others.

People added that, during the festival, Suri was only one of the celebrity kids present. Actress Gwyneth Paltrow's kids Apple and Moses were also there dancing while their dad Chris Martin was performing.

Holmes appears to be a really happy mother. In a recent interview with Xpose, she shared that Suri also inspires her to do better in everything.

''[Motherhood] changes you completely in such amazing ways, and I think that you become who you were meant to be,” she said.

''Being a parent also is a source of inspiration to just work really hard,” she added. “You want to set an example - and, you know, [your kids] are what drives you.''
