Parents Suspect in San Bernardino Shooting, Massacre Victims Revealed

Authorities have not ruled out a terrorist attack in the shooting that took place in San Bernardino, CA. The incident that killed 14 people and injured 21 others were carried out by two individuals that were identified by the police as parents.

The two suspects, who died during a barrage of exchanges with the officers, were identified as Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, and his wife Tashfeen Malik, 27. The two were married since 2013 and a member of their family revealed that the couple had a six-month-old child, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The dead suspects appeared to have carefully planned the attack, however, motives has yet to be determined as of now. Farook, who works as a county health inspector at a Public Health Department in San Bernardino, just 60 miles outside of Los Angeles, went to a party that was held by his fellow workers. According to city police chief Jarrod Burguan, the couple got involved in some kind of argument and seemed angry while leaving the area.

"These people came prepared to do what they did as if they were on a mission," Burguan said."They were armed with long guns, not with handguns," the police chief added.

The current case in San Bernardino is the deadliest shooting rampage in the U.S. since the Sandy Hook Elementary School incident in Newton, Connecticut, where a lone gunman killed 26 people before taking his own life.

Farook, who met his wife Malik in an online dating site, said to preach about his love with the outdoors, snowboarding and cars. In his previous online dating status, he posted, "I try to live as a good Muslim."

"Looking for a girl who has the same outlook, wear hijab, but live the life to the fullest," he added, as gathered by Yahoo News.

It is also reported that Farook had travelled to Middle East in recent years, according to his co-workers. Although there is no concrete motive established yet, the authorities are closely looking at two angles: a terror attack or a possible grudge that led the suspects to carry out this deadly massacre.

The FBI's assistant director in charge of the agency's Los Angeles office, David Bowdich, said that terrorism could be involved in this incident.

"It is a possibility, but we don't know that yet, and we aren't willing to go down that road yet," Bowdich said in the Los Angeles Times report.
