There is no doubt that the presence of Robert Downey Jr. a.k.a "Iron Man" and the rest of the Avengers in the anticipated blockbuster film "Captain America: Civil War" increases the film's popularity. Chris Evans, the actor who plays the titular superhero, is willing to return the favor in "Iron Man 4."
ComicBooks.com reported that it is understandable for fans to overlook "Captain America: Civil War" as Captain America's film because it was stuffed with many Marvel superheroes. However, no matter how one looks at the flick, it certainly is the story of the Star-spangled superhero.
Downey Jr. felt this fact the moment he noticed that the cameras were arranged to follow Steve Rogers' perspective and not Tony Stark's. "It just hit me yesterday, now that we're six weeks in, that they were actually over his shoulder coming out of the elevator, not over my shoulder watching him come out of the elevator," he told Entertainment Weekly.
"The Judge" star has no opposition on this. In fact, he agreed to it. "I was like, oh, that's right, it's his point of view," Downey Jr. said. Upon hearing this, Evans was pleased and announced that he is willing to return the favor if there is an "Iron Man 4."
"I'd be happy to be in an Iron Man movie," Evans said. "We've been in so many movies together, the titles are almost, at this point, inconsequential. We all win!"
Will there be an "Iron Man 4"? Parent Herald previously reported that the rumors about Ty Simpkins taking over the next film, which fans obviously do not support.
"Despite his impressive resume, it's a stretch to imagine that Marvel Studios believes he has the presence and charisma to replace Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man," Cinema Blend reported, pertaining to the reports about Simpkins taking over "Iron Man 4." "There's an argument to be made that if Robert Downey Jr. hadn't been cast as Tony Stark, then Marvel wouldn't have achieved their subsequent success."
Meanwhile, in a separate report from Parent Herald, Downey Jr. already confirmed "Iron Man 4" during his guesting on the "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." The host asked him if the film is on the works. He was initially hesitant to confirm it, stating that they are still under negotiations. However, when prompted for a "yes," he said, "Okay, yes."
There are talks that Stark will be meeting the Mandarin in "Iron Man 4." In another report from Parent Herald, the deleted scene of "Ant-Man" featured a man with 10 rings tattoo. Ten rings is the organization run by Mandarin, who was behind Stark's kidnapping in the first "Iron Man."
At the time, many are hoping to hear Marvel confirm that Downey Jr. is in for "Iron Man 4" and announce the film's release date.
