Popular golfer Tiger Woods is known to always shock the world when it comes to the sport he loves since childhood. He is known to be one of the most dominant competitors of all time and many people considered him as the "Michael Jordan" of his own sport.
He has won 14 major gold tournaments so far, a feat only he and the great Jack Nicklaus, who collected 18 majors, have achieved.
In 2009, a year after winning the US Open, Woods shocked the world and it was not about golf. It was his infidelity towards his wife that was given so much media attention and eventually costed him his family.
In his recent interview, National Post shared that Woods opened up about his divorce and how he explained the situation to his children.
"I just want them to understand before they get to the Internet age and they log on to something or have their friends tell them something," the father of two said. "I want it to come from me so that when they come of age, I'll just tell them the real story," he added.
"And so, that's part of the initiative - 'Hey, it was my fault, too. I was to blame' - and so I'm taking initiative with the kids," Woods said.
The news outlet said he continued by saying that he wants all the information coming directly from him and not from anyone else that may tell a different story. "And I can tell them absolutely everything so they hear it from me," he added.
Woods want his children to understand, the easiest way possible, why their parents are living apart.
"Daddy made some mistakes," he explained to his kids. "but it's OK. We're all human. We all make mistakes."
Meanwhile, Woods claimed that he is having a very good relationship with Elin Nordegren, his ex-wife. He confessed that, if he could change something about his life in the past, it would be his relationship with her. "It would be having a more open, honest relationship with my ex-wife," the athlete said.
Several people have thought that Woods was destined to break Jack Nicklaus record of 18 major championships. He has not won a single major since his last one in 2008 and people are beginning to speculate that he could be retiring in the next few years. Regardless of his decision, Woods will still be one of the greatest to have ever played the sport of golf.
