The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has quickly become a fan favorite with her casual demeanor and laid-back attitude amid a royal, conservative atmosphere, and a new survey reveals that in addition to her winning personality, Middleton is winning over beauty junkies who are influenced by her fashion decisions, according to E! News.
The new study was conducted by Europe's online beauty retailer, Free Unique, who found that 30 percent of women polled said they were more likely to use beauty products used by the Duchess. In second place was supermodel Kate Moss, who 15 percent of women said they would buy any products used by her, with Victoria Beckham and Cara Delevinge, the new face of YSL mascara, following close behind.
With a royal baby due on July 13, it may be easy to lose track of Kate Middleton's fashion influence, but the new survey shows that she's still a prominent figure in U.K. fashion and beauty consumption and culture.
"Two years ago blonde shades were more than twice as popular as brunette tones. Immediately after the Royal Wedding we experienced a surge in brown shades and in particular, Kate's signature Natural Dark Brown colour," said Siobhan McDermott, general manager for Feel Unique - who conducted the study, according to Vogue U.K. "It's now our most popular shade and contributes to brown colours consistently outselling blondes by two to one."
The Duchess has also reportedly used products Lancôme's Génifique Advanced Youth Activating Concentrate, Elizabeth Arden's Rose Illumination and presumably her infamous kohl eyeliner, all of which are three times more popular than long-time supermodel Moss's beauty products of choice.
"Kate [Middleton] and Kate [Moss] represent two sides of really modern women and between the two of them they cover all style and lifestyle tastes," Newby Hands, editorial director at Feel Unique, said to the Daily Mail.
Moss has a more rock n' roll style of beauty, having been on the faces of '90s grunge, while Middleton is known for her tailored and sophisticated style and more fresh-faced, glossy makeup looks.
