Celebrity pregnancy apparently is the new "hot topic" in entertainment news today, and Sean Lowe and his wife Catherine Giudici blasted their own newscast by revealing that the latter is pregnant with their first child.
On Tuesday afternoon, the two former "The Bachelor" stars announced the pregnancy on each of their Instagram accounts with a photo captioned, "It's happening! I'm going to be a dad!"
In their statement through Life & Style Weekly, the couple revealed that they "are so thrilled to announce" that they are expecting.
They continued by extending their gratitude to everyone who supported them over the years. "We can only hope to be half as good of parents are our parents were to us," the couple said.
Earlier this year, the 29-year-old Giudici posted an April Fool's Day prank via social media, which made many fans excited, saying that she is pregnant.
This time though, it is very real. Although not everyone who joined the show looking for true love find the ultimate happy ending love story, Lowe and Giudici proved to be different. The couple married each other on Jan. 29, 2014 after meeting in the show's season 17.
Giudici, whose real name is Catherine Ligaya and is known for winning the 17th season of "The Bachelor", is of Filipino and Italian ancestry. She is also devout Christian who also works in advertising just before joining the show. The two were married in a ceremonial that was headed by Lowe's father in Santa Barbara, Calif.
The soon-to-be parents, Lowe and Giudici, chose not to engage in pre-marital sex before their marriage because of the former's celibacy vow. Last year, at the Emmy Awards, the Seattle-born Giudici opened up to US Weekly about having kids with Lowe in the future. "We talk about it but we don't have that light switch that goes on yet. We are cherishing our married life right now without kids but we are excited for when we do," she said in a statement.
The two are definitely happy with the developments of their relationship. Although the show have gained success over the years, several people doubted the relationships that are created through the reality show.
"Catherine and Sean are over the moon they are having a baby. They both have dreamed of this day for a very long time. No one believed they would ever make it as a reality show couple and here they are today starting a family," a friend of the couple stated.
