Android 6.0 Update: OTA 6.0.1 Marshmallow Released -- Top 5 Features

Android's developer Google has released the latest update v6.0.1 Marshmallow to users. Although there seems to be not a lot features that came with the software update, there are still a few advantages with this new version of Android mobile operating system.

  1. The new emoji, which is said to be the most interesting update, is finally being included by the OTA. The noninclusion of emoji on their previous updates aggravates several Android followers because they noticed Apple's iOS users often get the feature included in their latest updates before them. New emojis like "hugging face" and "slightly smiling face" are being added, while they modified the poop to make it more appealing. The new development should give Android users something to get excited about.
  2. According to BGR, The new update also allows users to use the camera a little easier. They just need to double tap the power button and it should launch the phone's camera right away.
  3. Android users with older phone models that include Nexus 5, 6, 7 and 9, can now use this feature after the update is complete. This feature has already been added to the latest release like the the Nexus 5x and Nexus 6P.
  4. The "Do Not Disturb" mode feature is coming back with this new update, according to BGR. Introduced when they launched Android 5.1, it will give Android users to switch over to another mode like priority notification until the next scheduled alarm. It also gives users the choice to allow their phones to ring while the Do Not Disturb feature is enabled, such as when someone tries to contact you twice within 15 minutes. The feature is definitely a big help; no wonder many people got upset when they took it out on their next update after it was released.
  5. The new update also comes with a new security feature. The Nexus firmware images, this tightens the security update on the phone to prevent malicious software to penetrate and gather private and important information.

Meanwhile, the new OTA 6.0.1 may also disappoint many Android users, especially those that have devices that are not Android 6.0. There are still no reports yet if Android will release an update for other phones that are not Nexus.

With the new update being released, it is expected that phones can now download apps from Google Play much faster. Although, it is not perfectly developed, the new OTA 6.0.1 Marshmallow is definitely a new experience for Android users.
