Are you a fan of the open world, Western action-adventure video game "Red Dead Redemption?" If you are, you have to rejoice because there are speculations that a sequel is currently in the works. Although "Red Dead Redemption 2" is not yet confirmed, the reports about the upcoming title came from someone who previously worked with Rockstar Games.
Per iDigitalTimes, the report about "Red Dead Redemption 2" started from a trail in Reddit. One user introduced himself as Danny Ross who answers the questions asked of him online. The report suggested that he previously worked on the "Opie & Anthony" show before getting a job at Rockstar.
Most of the questions were initially related to his work on the radio show until one fan asked what's the next game that players can expect from Rockstar Games.
The fan asked: "Hey Danny, long time/first time...fuck this O&A nonsense and lets get to some real news. WTF does Rockstar have on deck?." Ross responded: "Really? Dumbass. Really? Two."
Ross' response may appear nonsense at first read, but many believe that he was hinting about something. Fans think that there is more to his cryptic answer than what appears on the surface. They were quick enough to get the teaser that he was talking about "Red Dead Redemption 2."
While this report is good news to those who are looking forward to "Red Dead Redemption 2," the validity of the post cannot be confirmed at the time. Ross is no longer working with Rockstar Games and we are not sure if it was him who responded on Reddit or it was just a poser.
The possibility that "Red Dead Redemption 2" is in development is likely because, aside from Ross, another Rockstar Game ex-employee spill the same thing.
WCCFtech reported that a Reddit user introduced himself as "AnonDN1978" and claimed to be a former Rockstar developer. He disclosed that the next iteration of "Red Dead Redemption" would be called "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West." He confirmed that it will be a prequel of the first game and will be coming to current-gen consoles with a PC release to follow a month after the console release.
He hinted that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will take in the same place as the first game and will have three playable characters.
"The two 'main' characters are Irish and Seth. Irish will be brought up in Ireland and will move to the Americas when he is fifteen and moves to the game setting when he turns twenty one. Seth is from Kansas City and works as a teller in a bank," he wrote. "The third person is a character you create similar to multiplayer in GTA V. You choose his clothes and horse."
