There is no doubt that many gamers are looking forward to the arrival of the anticipated game "Kingdom Hearts 3." But, did the Square Enix delay the title too much that fans have lost their interest on it?
According to GamingBolt, "Kingdom Hearts 3" falls out of top 10 in the latest Famitsu list while "Final Fantasy 15" remains to be among the top wanted games on any platform. Square Enix develops both games.
"Kingdom Hearts 3" was eight in the list before, but the title has fallen three spots down and is now sitting at the 11th spot. The report suggested a possible reason: "It seems as if the wait for 'Kingdom Hearts 3' has actually hurt its popularity."
The reason could be correct and it could be wrong. At the time, there is no way to tell why "Kingdom Hearts 3" has lost its popularity. It could be the long wait or maybe some other games have more exciting features that have gotten people a bit more excited over "Kingdom Hearts 3."
Speaking of the delays and the long wait, there are reports that Square Enix is gearing up for the release of "Kingdom Hearts 3" in 2016. Per Yibada, Amazon has already unveiled a list of the upcoming video games that will be released this month on its website. This report will surely be good news to "Kingdom Hearts 3" fans because the title is included in the roster.
The report stressed that it is likely that "Kingdom Hearts 3" would come out in 2016, eliminating the possibility of a 2017 release.
Unfortunately, if one visits the Amazon listing today, it seems that the date was updated. "Kingdom Hearts 3" has been put on pre-order option on Amazon for a retail price of $59.96 for PS4 and $59.00 for Xbox One. In the headline, the seller stressed that "This item will be released on December 30, 2016." The description revealed that the game will feature new and familiar worlds based on Disney properties and will serve as the final chapter of the Dark Seeker saga.
There is a note on the preorder listing indicating that customers might receive an email from Amazon stating that the title is slated for release on Dec. 30, 2016. The placeholder release date for the game is Dec. 31, 2016 and the closest shipping day to that placeholder date is Dec. 30, 2016. The post further explained: "No actual release date is confirmed at this time. Apologies for any confusion this may have caused."
This update will surely dishearten every "Kingdom Hearts 3" fans who are looking forward to the title early next year and this might decrease the popularity of the game even more.
