Paris Jackson Suicide Attempt Update:15-Year-Old Said 'She is Lonely and Doesn’t Feel Loved'

Paris Jackson, Michael Jackson's 15-year-old daughter was rushed to hospital early Wednesday after reportedly cutting her wrists. Although police authorities termed the incident as a 'suicide attempt,' they said they did not think she wanted to end her life, reported TMZ.

"She wanted attention," a source close to the police officials told the entertainment website. The source said that the teenager wanted to be saved. "It makes no sense if you really want to die to call a hotline, where the person on the other end will get an ambulance over to your house."

Paris reportedly attempted suicide by using a meat cleaver to cut her arm and gulped down Motrin tablets. She was taken to the hospital around 2 AM after one of the family members called 911.

The source told TMZ that Paris wanted EMT to be on time. "Who takes Motrin to kill themselves? She called the suicide hotline because she wanted the attention and wanted to make sure EMTs got there in time." The website also reported that when the EMTs arrived, she was conscious and did not struggle with the authorities while she was put on a stretcher.

People magazine reported that Paris "misses her father greatly." "Paris has been very, very depressed for a while. She's been throwing fits and tantrums, kicking and screaming and cutting herself. She misses her father. She was the center of Michael's world and it is all different now. She says that she is lonely and doesn't feel loved," a source told the magazine.

Doctors at Southern California Hospital, where she is admitted, said that the teenager was physically fine now.

Paris recently made up with her estranged mother Debbie Rowe and is staying with her. Following Paris' suicide attempt, aunt La Toya thanked fans and well-wishers for their concern. La Toya issued a thank you statement to E! News after the incident. "We are grateful and appreciate the overwhelming concern for Paris from both the public and the media, but request privacy at this time while our family handles these issues together," she said.
