Among the anticipated game that fans are looking forward to is "Tekken 7." The game is already available in arcade in Japan and gamers all over the world have been waiting for its release date. However, up to now, the release date is still unknown.
GameRant suggested that Bandai Namco, the developer and publisher of the game, prefers making a big announcement about "Tekken" at fighting game tournaments instead of other events. "Tekken 7" was revealed at EVO 2014 and a new and enhanced version of the game entitled "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" was announced at the grand finals of the King of Iron First Tournament 2015.
The report suggested a possible crossover with "Street Fighter." Bandai Namco shared a trailer of "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" and, to the surprise of many fans, it featured the popular antagonist of the "Street Fighter" series Akuma. The report stressed that this is notable considering that the character is not included in the roster for "Street Fighter 5."
Per DenofGeek, The Supreme Master of the Fist will play the role of the anti-hero in "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution," where his quest is to eliminate Heihachi and Kazuya. The report claimed that Akuma is among the most powerful character in Street Fighter's mythos.
Akuma is a man-turned-demon who feels the need to corrupt the series' protagonist Ryu into following his path. He holds his own code of honor. He is a monster when compared to the likes of Ryu and Ken, but a saint when up against the Mishima clan.
GameRant speculated that, with the addition of Akuma in "Tekken 7," there's a possibility for fans to see more "Street Fighter" characters in the game. Moreover, there's a big chance for "Tekken" and "Street Fighter" crossover.
Bandai Namco explained that "Tekken X Street Fighter" has not been cancelled, but the concept has been transformed into "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution." Despite this report, many are still hoping that Akuma's inclusion would lead to a full-fledged "Tekken X Street Fighter" game, assuming that the title is still in development.
Up to now, there is no release date for "Tekken 7." However, two months ago, Bandai Namco announced that the title would be released to PS4 with PlayStation VR support.
Parent Herald previously reported that the title might be released early 2016 and will come with new game modes. In a separate report from Parent Herald, the title will also arrive with better graphics.
As for "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution," no other details were known aside from the trailer. Fans are left in the dark as to when the title will be released in Japanese arcades. Hopefully, Bandai Namco will reveal more information about the upcoming title soon.
