Although GoPro Hero 5 is still in the rumor category, it is projected to be released in 2016 along with another fresh release from the company.
As reported by Gospel Herald, the Hero 5 is said to arrive next year. Originally, the plan was supposed to be in October. However, the news portal relayed that the date has been postponed to 2016 to give way to the company to make the product an exceptional action camera.
Hero 5's presence may have been missed this holiday and there are no announcements if the camera will arrive this year. The year is almost coming to a close and there's still no word about it. However, that doesn't stop the rumors from swirling.
For instance, rumors stated that the next Hero camera will carry upgraded features such as the capability of shooting 8K videos. It is also speculated that Hero 5 can also shoot 3D motion and images.
The next Hero camera is also expected to be smaller and lighter than its predecessor, which makes it even more convenient for adventure-seekers to carry around.
Gospel Herald continued that Hero 5 can be fitted perfectly into head gears, which will make the camera all the more suitable for adrenalin junkies. It was also mentioned that the device will be waterproof.
However, all the aforementioned specs and features are only speculations and GoPro has not issued a confirmation for Hero 5 or an announcement on the release date.
In the meantime, GoPro fanatics will still have something to get excited about as GoPro's upcoming release will be a drone.
According to Stuff, the drone was unveiled by Nick Woodman, founder and CEO of GoPro, months ago. However, it's only now that the device got its official name -- Karma.
Based on the official trailer for the device released by the company, not much has been given away about Karma except that it's arriving in 2016.
The video only gives viewers a glimpse of what the device is capable of doing. However, there's good news to anyone who is interested about the drone. GoPro will be giving away 100 units of GoPro Karma for free when it launches the device and it only takes signing up with them.
Woodman also expressed his excitement over Karma during an interview with Recode back in May. "It's incredible to see our world from new perspectives. It's a real 'Oh my God' moment," he revealed.
It appears that 2016 is an exciting year for many adventurers and adrenalin junkies as the two GoPro devices could soon be introduced. More updates on GoPro's upcoming devices are expected to arrive in the coming months.
