Among the Marvel films that fans are looking forward to is the fourth installment of the popular hit series "Iron Man." Unfortunately, at the time, Marvel has not confirmed nor made any official statement about "Iron Man 4." The actors and fans are very eager to talk about the anticipated flick.
Parent Herald previously reported that Captain America might appear in "Iron Man 4." Chris Evans, the actor playing the titular role in the anticipated blockbuster film "Captain America: Civil War," expressed his intention and willingness to participate in the next adventure of "Iron Man."
Most of us know that Robert Downey Jr. a.k.a "Iron Man" plays a huge role in "Captain America: Civil War." In fact, the plot of the film features the torn friendship between Iron Man and Captain America. Although "Civil War" was packed with Avengers, as the title implies, it is "Captain America's" film and Downey Jr. recognized it.
Evans told Entertainment Weekly that he is willing to return the favor to Downey Jr. in "Iron Man 4." "I'd be happy to be in an Iron Man movie. We've been in so many movies together, the titles are almost, at this point, inconsequential. We all win!" he said.
However, not all are sold out to the idea of Evans appearing on "Iron Man 4" because there are rumors that Captain America will die in "Civil War." Per Classicalite, "actors tend to a lie a lot when it comes to superhero films."
The report stressed that, in the comic book counterpart of "Civil War," Captain America died in the storyline. Thus, many are wondering if Evans is just giving fans a false hope that his character will appear in "Iron Man 4."
Moreover, the actor already expressed his interest in shifting from acting to directing. Last year, the "Before We Go" actor told Variety that he wants to finish his contract with Marvel and focus on directing. "If I'm acting at all, it's going to be under Marvel contract, or I'm going to be directing. I can't see myself pursuing acting strictly outside of what I'm contractually obligated to do," he said.
However, there are still chances for Captain America to survive in the "Civil War" given that films most of the time deviate from its comic book counterpart. In a separate report from Parent Herald, Evans just signed a 5-year contract with Marvel and he will not die in the upcoming flick "Captain America: Civil War" but might be arrested similar to the other versions in the comics.
