Funny man Will Ferrell and Hollywood hunk Mark Wahlberg are at it again in the new movie under Red Granite Pictures, "Daddy's Home." After their success in the 2010 film "The Other Guys", the combination of the two is expected to give fans another fun movie this holiday.
Ferrell, 48, has had movie success under his belt, with hits like "Blades of Glory", "Old School," "Anchorman" and "Elf."
His movies combined have reportedly earned $2 billion at the box office, making him one of the most successful actors of this generation, Variety reported.
Meanwhile, the Oscar-nominated Wahlberg is definitely not a stranger to movie fans. The "Transformers" actor is currently enjoying a balanced life between his family and career as he continues to make blockbuster movies.
Ferrell expressed his admiration for his co-star. He said that he is funny, entertaining, charming and someone who can do it all as an actor.
"It's nice that we have a shorthand with each other from 'the Other Guys,' so filming this movie was a lot of fun. Once again, I play the straight-laced guy and Mark is kind of the crazy one. We're the perfect combination together," Ferrell said.
In the new movie, Wahlberg plays the character Dusty, a real dad to the kids, while Ferrell's character Brad is the step father who married Dusty's ex. Dusty loves to play mind games with Brad, including a scene in the airport wherein the former ignored the latter.
The Hollywood Reporter reported that the Boston-native Wahlberg stated that he tried his best to make sure the scenes are as natural as possible.
"Just try to make it real, play it real, no matter how absurd the circumstances are, just always try to play it real," Wahlberg said.
"And the great thing about Will is he has the same approach to work. No matter what he's doing, he wants to play it real. I can't really do it any other way," he added.
Meanwhile, the co-founder of Red Granite, Joey McFarland, said in the same news outlet that "Daddy's Home" is a family movie that everyone can enjoy.
"There's a lot of great films in the marketplace but I don't think as many of them tick as many boxes as we do," McFarland explained. "And I think that that's a real advantage for us, and at the end of the day, I think a crowd brings a crowd."
He also believed that the movie will hit big at the box office, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
