Holly Holm's knockout win over Ronda Rousey could possibly change her life big time. The new UFC women bantamweight champion is said to make a lot of money should a rematch with Rousey follow through.
A fight with another champion from Invicta FC Cris "Cyborg" Justino is also a good option for Holm. However, the payday is not going to close as big as she is going to get if she fights Rousey again.
Cyborg had previously expressed her intention not to move down to 135lbs, which makes the fight almost impossible since Holm does not have any plan of moving up to a higher weight, as stated in a report relayed by Yahoo! News.
There were talks before the Holm fight pushed through that Rousey was going to meet Cyborg in the cage. However, negotiation fell apart after Rousey and the UFC decided to go against Holm, and the rest is history.
It has been previously reported that UFC already set a date for the rematch between Holm and Rousey. News.com shared that UFC commentator Joe Rogan expressed his opinion about the upcoming fight.
He said that a rematch with Rousey would be very big for Holm's career financially. "The Holly Holm fight with Ronda is the biggest fight for Holly Holm. Holly Holm's going to make like $7 million."
"She doesn't want to wait, she wants to stay active and I totally understand that, and I think it should be her prerogative as a champion to choose," he added.
"But financially that's the smart move for her because she's going to make the most money," Rogan suggested.
Meanwhile, Holm's camp apparently has a different plan, according to the news outlet. The Australian champion is used to fighting all the time.
While they think that a fight with Rousey in July is a very good idea, they also want to stay active so it won't affect their fighter's conditioning. Holm's camp is looking for a big showdown between their fighter and Miesha Tate, the former Strikeforce champion.
With that being said, Holm's manager Lenny Fresquez admitted that the decision does not come from them.
Rogan's co-host Brendan Schaub thinks that problem may start to generate in Rousey's camp once the rematch with Holm gets finalized. Schaub said that Rousey's acting career may be an issue once she starts her training camp.
He added that Rousey should not be doing acting as of the moment because she has a contract with the UFC organization.
