'Uncharted 4' Release Date: Fans Rant Over Voice Actor Change; Beta Ends -- 5 Gameplay Tricks We Know!

The closed beta for “Uncharted 4: A Thief's End” has just ended and it has elicited various responses from players. The funny thing is, while the gameplay itself was promising, a certain blunder over a voice actor caused some to rant.

According to Yahoo!, the “Uncharted 4” multiplayer beta has pleased fans of the series by bringing into the game what many have been expecting. Not only that, the beta has succeeded in letting players see new gameplay tricks.

First, players are given one out of six possible gear loadouts. These various loadouts are either for assault, tactical or close range set ups.

Next, player teams are composed of five members each, pitted in 12-minute deathmatches. While playing, each player levels up by gaining some experience points.

When a player reaches enough experience points, the ability to create customized loadouts is unlocked. With this, players will be able to choose weapons and gear, making personalized sets based on their personal preferences.

With each deathmatch, players are also able to earn in-game cash which they can use to purchase either weapons, upgrades, AI-controlled “buddies” as well as “mysticals,” which are specialized abilities.

The multiplayer beta showed much promise, beautifully combining stunning graphics and great gameplay action, coming from one action-packed title. Based on how the beta performed, “Uncharted 4” could very well be one of 2016's best entries.

But, as mentioned earlier, some fans chose to rant over a certain voice actor change.

Design & Trend reported that a certain KnivesHaveMyBack posted his disappointment in the PlayStation Forums. There, Knives explained that game character Harry Flynn had his voice changed. Flynn has appeared in the series since “Uncharted 2,” voiced by Steve Valentine.

“Steve Valentine's portrayal of the character made him stand out and that's what made most of us enjoy Flynn,” Knives wrote.

“I was pleasantly surprised in Uncharted 3 to see that Flynn had new lines, despite not being in the game at all. Imagine my surprise when I immediately selected him in the beta to find that his voice was completely changed,” he added.

DT reported that a “large group” of fans share the same sentiment. In fact, the outrage over why Flynn had a change of voice became large enough that game developer Naughty Dog's community specialist Arne Meyer responded, saying that they can not disclose such confidential information at the moment.

Meyer said: “It's something that we're looking into, so we'll just leave it at that for now.” This simply means that the game company is listening to fans' feedback, but cannot guarantee that Valentine will be back.
